Hookpoint Purchases - 5 gold/5 bounty points/5 guild bounty points. Welcome to Uthgard A Dark Age of Camelot experience like no other - taking you back to the glory days of one of the greatest MMORPG’s ever created A lot has changed since our humble beginnings in 2003 and we’ve come a long way as the first Dark Age of Camelot freeshard. Camelot is still a thriving and vibrant capital, but it is starting to show signs of decay. The forces held so long at bay by the legendary king are now pressing on the borders of Albion, the home of the Britons. Underpopulated realms will receive a 50% reduction of cost bonus for all hookpoint purchases. It is about ten years after King Arthurs death. RvR Bonus in the following tables denotes bonus applied to realm points, bounty points, and coin gained from RvR. Underpopulated realms characters will receive the free level experience from the Enhanced Levelling System introduced in version 1.71 more often, up to a minimum of every two days, if the character has attained a level by regular play in that time. The experience earned from the additional camp bonus and bonus experience from player kills also applies towards earning artifact experience. Underpopulated realms will receive a greater camp bonus than realms whose populations are more evenly distributed on a given server. Underpopulated realms will receive greater bonuses than realms whose populations are more evenly distributed on a given server.Īll realms will also receive additional camp bonuses, meaning more experience per monster kill. I have pledges with all of these (and others ) but this should be a start for those looking for a modern take on some old school or lesser known MMO dynamics. To assist the players in low population realms, or realms facing difficult odds, we are providing additional bonuses for PvE and RvR combat.Įvenly distributed and underpopulated realms will now receive bonus experience, realm points, bounty points, and coin for fighting enemy players in the Frontiers. Not yet in external testing (except for a very limited group), but has a very novel way they're going to build and test additional systems that will actually build the history of the gameworld in the process. Has long been in pre-alpha testing with a new major build every month access is granted to all who have a pledge with a game key.Ĭhronicles of Elyria - An incredibly ambitious MMO project with many, many in depth systems. TONS of detailed, roleplay centric features for both those who favor PVE and PVP. Shroud of the Avatar - The spiritual successor to Ultima Online developed by "Lord British" himself (Richard Garriott, creator of the Ultima series etc), this brings UO-like elements into a 3D environment. An ambitious project and definitely worth looking into! Also in pre-alpha testing, with all game key pledges granting access to the test builds. Currently in pre-alpha testing, which is accessible to those that have pledged for the game.Ĭrowfall - Another MMO that brings a unique PVP twist, from some of the developers of "Shadowbane" (a game way, way before its time - it failed mostly due to technical limitations of the time) and partially inspired by it, as well as DAOC, UO, and others. Nice to see DAOC has a community as well - for those who don't want to take such a time leveling, I'm guessing there are likely servers that offer instant or speedy leveling modifiers.įor those who enjoy Dark Age of Camelot, Ultima Online, or other classic fantasy MMOs but want something a bit more modern check out the following -Ĭamelot Unchained - A sequel/remake of sorts to DAOC by some of its original developers. For instance, EverQuest has everything from Project 1999 (replicating EQ during the Velious expansion near exactly) to the amazing Shards of Dalaya (using EQ assets/zones but totally revamping them into something completely new! Its like a whole new game!). There are some unique free/custom shards for older MMOs like these which is nice to see. Good times indeed, though I admit there's probably a lot of rose-colored-nostalgia.
